Description:

Herb to 3 m tall, rhizomes densely covered with pale brown, stiff, appressed and erect hairs, sheaths of flowering stems purple-red, bracts red, (tubular) flowers yellow. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Habitat:

Forested slopes.
