Description:

Tree 28 m x 45 cm, low buttresses, outer bark light brown, lenticellate, some hoop marks, thin, inner bark thicker, rose; latex watery. Inflorescence yellow. Secondary nerves of leaves red below. Use: latex used to coagulate Hevea latex. N.V.: caucho.
Habitat:

Recent sediments, relatively level terrain, low-lying areas flooded for several months in winter (Nov-Mar). Primary forest.
