Description:

subshrub (to 0.2 m), sometimes prostrate in páramo, to erect shrub to 0.3 m at ecotone. corolla deep dark red, urceolate, sometimes globose; berry translu- cent white.

Habitat:

Espeletia-Calamagrostis páramo and shrub-thicket ecotone.
