Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the mouth of the river (at confluence of Rio Tonantins and Rio Solimões) and the source of the river (approximated through the dense forest cover), then halved this distance to approximate the location of the geographic midpoint of Rio Tonantins. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint, on the adjacent shore of the river.
