Description:

Hemiepiphyte; internodes short, 2 cm diam., but also with elongated climbing portions; internodes dark olive-green, semiglossy with even darker short lineations, sometimes somewhat flattened; cataphylls persisting intact briefly then deciduous; petioles subterete, obtusely and narrowly sulcate, medium green, matte; blades moderately coriaceous, semiglossy, moderately bicolorous; midrib convex-flattened and concolorous above, medially sulcate toward base above, narrowly rounded and thick below, weakly short-lineate; primary lateral veins lacking; minor veins moderately distinct, fine, close; cross-veins weakly visible; inflorescence solitary; peduncle curved at apex; spathe dark violet-purple, the blade creamy white outside with reddish spots and a diffusion of red in lower 1/2 on outside, dark violet-purple on inside of tube (post-anthesis).
