Description:

Herb 2.5 m. tall; leaves membranous, dark green above, pale green below; corolla in bud pale greenish, becoming when mature violet within in lower part, lavender in upper part, pale lavender without; connective of anther rugose-papillate, black-purple, enlarged and larger than anther; anther rich purple; calyx pale green suffused with madder purple, lobes recurving; ovary pale green; style white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Rich wet cloud forest on seaward-facing slopes of quebrada.
