Stem solitary, to 30 cm long. Leaves spreading; sheath ca 20cm long; petiole 50 cm long, spiny abacially; pinnae 8-10 per side, in groups of 2-4, sigmoid, spiny on margins, glossy green adaxially.Inflorescence interfoliar, spicate. Fruits elon.
