Description:
Description - Shrub 2-3 m; leaves oblong, pubescent, margins coarsely serrate and spine-tipped; inflorescence several, pedunculate, racemose, terminal spikes; bracts lanceolate, pubescent, margins spinose-dentate; corolla red, puberulent, lower lip 3-lobed, lobes spreading, equal, upper lip erect, minutely bilobed.
Phenology - It flowers towards the end of the rain season and should be classed as vulnerable according to IUCN categories
