A small bract usually inserted on the pedicel. In the Lecythidaceae bbracteoles usually are in pairs inserted on pedicels.

Notes:

In Lecythidaceae bracteoles are paired and always associated with the pedicel and placed above the bract and below the articulation of the pedicel with the hypanthium.
