Mexico. Jalisco. on or below E-W crest of Sierra de Manantlan Occidental, on lumber road from Cerro La Cumbre 4km W toward Las Joyas, 1km SE to NW of Cerro Al Almeal, 17km SSW of El Chante, 23 km SSE of Autlan. Alt. 2050 - 2200 m. (6726 - 7218 ft.)

Habitat:

a. Quercus-Pinus-Carpinus caroliniana cloud forest, 10-35 m canopy and dense 2m shrub understory...on top of ridge grading into very open dry, often-burned N-facing... Mesophytic mixed montane cloud forests. See voucher.
