Bark with distinct longitudinal grooves.

Notes
In some Lecythidaceae, such as Corythophora rimosa and the species of Lecythis sect. pisonis, the bark is very deeply fissured. In other species, such as Lecythis mesophylla and L. poiteaui, the bark is shallowly fissured but still fissured.
