Description: Perennial herb. Rhizome thick, exuding , arising from thick rhizome, . Leaves simple; petioles well-developed; blades orbicular, 3-9-lobed, the lobes undulate to coarsely toothed Inflorescence single-flowered scape, the peduncle 5-15 cm long. Flowers: sepals 2, petals 8(16), white; ovarry narrowed to short style, the stigma capitate, the placentae 2.. Fruits capsules, crowned by persistent style, dehiscent from base upward, the valves elongate. Seeds arillate
