"campina" -- forest on poorly drained white-sand soils, thick litter layer, high density of slender trees and vines, closed canopy ca. 10 m but some areas with occasional emergents to 25 m x 50 cm.

Little-branched tree to 6 m, inflorescences suberect, leaves occurring in whorl of 4, buds and immature fruits. By side of narrow unpaved road. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Fruit.
