  • Specimen Notes

Annotation by C. W. Short, Oct 1832: In looking into the collection of my late valued friend Mr. H. H. Eaton, I find this Aster so namedby Dr. Torrey, with a request for specimens of it- It therefore afford me much pleasure to send to Dr. Torrey several duplicates which I happen to have. Besdies the locality elsewhere specify for it (Ky. river clifs) I have lately found it abundant within a mile of Lexington. It varies exceedingly in the growth form- from 1 to 5 ft. in height and in the number of inflorescences.
