  Árbol siempre verde de 10 pies de alto y 5 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Se distingue por ser bien ramificado, espinas afiladas esbeltas, hojas bien pequeñas, flores fragrantes pequeñas de color amarillo claro o blancuzco apiñadas en la base de las hojas y frutos en bayas redondeadas. Este árbol endémico es raro en los bosques calizos secos y la baja Cordillera Central en el suroeste de Puerto Rico y las Islas de Desecheo y Vieques. Evergreen tree of 10 feet of height and 5 inches of diameter in the trunk. It is characterized by being well grafted with sharpened svelte thorns, very small leaves, small fragrant flowers of pale or whitish yellow color clustered together at the base of the leaves, and fruits in round berries. This endemic tree is rare, found in the dry calcareous forests and the low Central Mountain range in the Southwest of Puerto Rico and the Islands of Desecheo and Vieques.
