  Adaxial side (left) and abaxial side (right) of the leaves of Acer saccharum based on Mori 27594 from the Zofnass Family Reserve, Westchester County, New York. The margins are only toothed at the apex of the lobes, the leaf blade base is deeply incised, and there are 5 distinct lobes.
