  Buds and pulvinate petiole bases of Quercus velutina based on S. A. Mori & M. Rothman 27999 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester County, New York. The swollen leaf bases (pulvini) are densely pubescence and the buds are somewhat angular.
