  Leaves and stem of Cornus alternifolia based on S. A. Mori & M. Rothman 27948 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester Co., New York. The adaxial leaf blade surfaces are green and the abaxial surfces are whitish-green.
