Position of the male part of a flower (androecium) of Lobelia cardinalis. based on Mori & Rothman 27831 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester Co., New York. The gray stuctures are the connivent anthers (fused together. A white barb surrounds the opening though which the stigma will pass.
