  Iinflorescences of female flowers of Acer rubrum. based on S. A. Mori & C. Gracie 27685 from the Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester County, New York. The females are darker red than the male flowers. Note the cup formed by the bud scales subtending the group of flowers.
