Species Description - Rhizomatous; stems 1–3 dm, eventually much branched, villous below with hairs 1–1.5 mm; lfls 6–15 mm wide; infl umbelliform, scarcely surpassing the lvs; pedicels sparsely villous with hairs 0.5–1 mm; pet yellow, 13–20 mm; fr to 20 mm, villous with hairs 1 mm; seeds 1.5 mm. Open woods; Ky. to Fla. and Miss. Apr., May. (O. priceae; Xanthoxalis p.)
