Description
Species Description - Perennial 5–12 dm from a stoloniferous base, usually much branched above, softly spreading-hairy throughout; lvs lanceolate, the larger 3–10 cm; fls 4-merous, sessile or nearly so, tending to be crowded toward the end of short lateral branches, subtended by much reduced, often ± elliptic lvs; pet none; fr 3–4 mm long and thick, not angled, the well developed bracteoles inserted above its base; 2n=32. Wet ground; on the coastal plain from se. Va. to Fla. and Tex. June–Aug. (L. ravenii)
