Description
Species Description - Stems ± erect, nearly simple, 5–10 dm, sericeous; petioles 4–10 mm; lfls narrowly oblong, 2–4 cm × 3–7 mm, obtuse and mucronate, sparsely appressed- pubescent above, sericeous beneath; spikes slender, loose and interrupted, 2–3 cm, on peduncles 1–2 cm; fls 4–6 mm, ochroleucous, the cor about equaling the cal; fr densely villous, equaling the cal. Dry prairies; n. Ill., s. Wis., n. Io., and s. (rarely c.) Minn. Late summer.
