Description
Species Description - Coarse, erect annual 3–6 dm with 4-angled stems, large semi- cordate stipules and ample lvs with tendrils; lfls 1–3 pairs, obovate to elliptic, serrate or entire, 3–6 cm; fls 1 or 2 in the axils, blue or violet, 15–25 mm; cal distinctly bilabiate; fr 4–7 cm × 10–15 mm, 4–6- seeded, with pectinate-fringed sutures; 2n=14. Native of the Mediterranean region, established as a weed near Washington, D.C.
