Description
Description - Aquatic herbs, the submersed stems with finely divided leaves bearing minute bladders. Flowers racemose or solitary at the summits of the scapes, each pedicel with a single bract at its base. Calyx 2-parted, the lobes herbaceous. Corolla strongly '2-lipped, the lower lip with a prominent 2-lobed palate. [Latin, utriculus, a little bag.] About 75 species, of wide distribution. Type species: Utricularia vulgaris L.
