Description
Description - Evergreen shrubs or small trees, with opposite or verticillate coriaceous leaves, and small perfect white or yellow, racemed, corymbed or panicled flowers. Sepals 5, imbricated. Corolla salverform or short-eampanulate, 5-lobed, the lobes imbricated in the bud, spreading at anthesis. Staminodia 5, borne on the corolla-tube. Stamens 5, borne on the base of the corolla-tube. Ovary 5-carpellary; style short; ovules usually many. Fruit ovoid or globose, coriaceous. Seeds compressed, with cartilaginous endosperm.
