Description
Species Description - Basal lvs erect, 2–4 dm × 3–5 mm; cauline lf usually single and bract-like, below the middle of the stem; scape 3–7 dm, beset with short, stout, spreading hairs, especially upwards, but not sticky, the raceme 5–15 cm; fls ochroleucous, clustered and bracteate as in no. 1 [Tofieldia glutinosa (Michx.) Pers.], the terminal ones opening first; tep oblong, obtuse, 4 mm; fr narrowly obovoid, 3 mm, firm-walled; seeds narrowly ellipsoid, 2 mm, appendaged at both ends, the body only 1 mm. Wet pine-lands and bogs on the coastal plain; N.J. to Fla. and Tex. July. (Triantha r.)
