Type
Type collection. P. S. Martin s.n., French Guiana (not seen). It is unfortunate that I have thus far been unable to see type material of this species but the original description makes it clear that the material assigned to this species is identical with Vogel s concept. Since Bentham also was unable to locate the type, it may be lost; however, without being certain of its loss, I do not feel justified in selecting a neotype.
