    Latin Diagnosis - A var. acutifolia foliolis faciebus ambobus strigulosis, bracteolis longioribus et alabastris maioribus differt. Stipulae falcato-lanceolatae acutae, 3-6.5 mm longae, 1 mm latae; petioli teretes, 2-4 cm longi, rhachibus 12-18 cm longis, anguste marginatis stipellatis ad jugorum basim, stipellis ad 1.5 mm longis; foliola 7-9-jugata, petiolulis 1.5-3 mm longis, laminis 4 inferiorum jugorum 4-5 cm longis, 1.5-2 cm latis, laminis reliquis 7-10.5 cm longis, 2.5-4 cm latis, laminis omnibus basi inaequilateralibus latere superiore obtuso ad acuto, latere inferiore acuto, apice acutis, strigulosis faciebus ambobus, costa supra leviter impressa infra saliente venis primariis supra planis infra leviter salientibus; inflorescentiae 16.5-24 cm longae, bracteis deciduis ovatis acutis, 3-3.5 mm longis, 1.5-2 mm latis, bracteolis persistentibus pedicellorum versus apicem nascentibus, 2-2.5 mm longis, 1 mm latis, lanceolatis acutis; pedicelli 6-6.5 mm longi, dense strigulosi; alabastra globosa, ca 9 mm diametro, dense strigulosa; petalo unguiculus ca 4 mm longus, lamina ca 10 mm longa et 25 mm lata; staminorum maiorum filamenta ca 11 mm longa, villosa, antheris 2.5 mm longis et 1 mm latis, staminorum minorum filamenta ca 12 mm longa; gynoecium sericeum, ovario ca 7 mm longo et 2.5 mm lato, arcuato anguste elliptico; fructus oblongus, 10-12.5 cm longus, 4-5 cm latus, minute strigulosus ad apicem et basim transverse multi-costulatus 5-seminatus.

    (Fig. 18). Apparently confined to the Cha-cha Valley in the southern part of Minas Gerais, Brazil, at 650-700 m alt.
