Discussion
Three plant fragments, 1.45-1.56, 1.60-1.75 m. Two ofthe fossils conform to the common expression ofthe species, viz., leaves with recurved margins, apical teeth, and percurrent costae. The upper and middle laminal cells are irregularly quadrate or rectangular and thick walled, while the basal laminal cells are long-rectangular and thinner walled. Leaves of the third fossil have short, stout, excurrent costae but otherwise agree with the leaves of more typical plants.
