Description
Genus Description - Scapes with basal sheath, naked above, the bracts often keeled. Flowers: sepals 3, the two exterior lateral ones keeled, persistent, the single interior one membranous, hood-like, enveloping corolla in bud, caducous; petals 3, usually yellow, infrequently white; stamens 3; staminodia 3, often bifid, the branches fimbriate; ovary unilocular, with basal or parietal placentae, the style filiform, 3-branched, the stigmas 3, dilated or subcapitate.
