    Species Description - Perennials, extensively sprawling, creeping and rooting at nodes; erect portion of culms 15-70 cm tall. Leaves 4-30 X 0.3-1 cm, usually rounded at base. Inflorescences 5-25 cm long, contracted to pyramidal, with many glabrous, ascending branches. Spikelets 1.1-1.7 mm long, lanceolate-elliptical, obtuse; upper floret 1-1.4 mm long.

    Distribution and Ecology - Rare in our flora, in disturbed areas.
