    Genus Description - Small, caespitose to scandent epiphytes without pseudobulbs. Secondary stems terete, enclosed by tubular, usually ciliate bracts. Leaves 1 per secondary stem. Inflorescences densely to laxly-flowered racemes, 1 to several from bases of leaves. Flowers opening simultaneously; sepals subequal, free or the lateral sepals variously connate; petals usually smaller than sepals, entire to iimbriate; lip entire or 3-lobed, with auriculate protuberances; column short, winged, footed; pollinia 2, waxy. This genus was previously included in a broadly defined Pleurothallis R. Brown as Pleurothallis sect. Lepanthiformes (Lindley) Cogniaux.
