    Genus Description - Caespitose or repent epiphytes with terete or pseudobulbous, usually superposed stems, the pseudobulbs usually fusiform. Leaves 1-3 per stem segment, from apex of stem segments, grass-like to elliptic, coriaceous. Inflorescences usually terminal fascicles, rarely racemes, the flowers usually solitary to a few. Flowers: sepals subequal, spreading; petals subsimilar to sepals but usually smaller; lip simple or 3-lobed, usually articulated with tip of column foot, clawed or clawless; column short, wingless or winged; pollinia 4 or 6, waxy.
