    Genus Description - Terrestrial herbs, caulescent or acaulescent, propagating usually by stolons and rhizomes. Inflorescences mostly more than one, unbranched, borne laterally beneath rosette of leaves. Flowers distinctly pedicellate; sepals markedly connate; petals without ligules on claw, glabrous, free; stamens included; epigynous tube well developed, the sepals, petals, and anthers adnate to the tube.
