    Species Description - Ovaries at anthesis glabrous; fruits to 2 cm. Reproductive biology. Most specimens in herbaria are sterile, and extremely few are in flower; Ducke (1925) also said that it flowers only rarely and that he had seen only one perfect flower. Flowering August to October; fruiting most months of year. Monkeys are reported to eat the fruits, which are succulent.

    Uses. Timber for building houses; firewood. “Seeds” (endocarps) are reported to be used by children to make necklaces.
