Description
Species Description - Leaves densely rufous-pubescent to tomentose abaxially. Petiole usually less than 1 cm, densely pubescent. Intersecondary veins present; tertiary and higher order veins prominently raised abaxially, often orthogonally arranged; areolation well developed, prominent. Inflorescence and flowers densely pubescent to tomentose.

Distribution
Sympatric with T. eriostachya in western and eastern (but not central) Cuba (Oriente, perhaps west into Camaguey; Pinar del Rio, La Habana), in the hills in dry forests and by rivers.
