    Species Description - Treelet 2-7 m tall, sometimes with a few upright branches on distal portion, theses with determinate growth due to a terminal inflorescence. Stems terete, smooth, velutinous on young parts. Leaves paripinnate; distal process filiform, to 1 cm long; leaflets 6-10, the distal ones opposite, the others sub-opposite to alternate, elliptic to oblanceolate, 15-47 × 6.4-14 cm, coriaceous, the adaxial surface, glabrous, with impressed midvein and secondary veins, the venation brochidodromus, prominent on abaxial surface, forming a marginal loop, tertiary veins reticulate, the margins entire, the apex short to long-acuminate, the base obtuse to rounded; petiolules thickened, 1-1.5 cm long, woolly-pubescent; rachis to 55 cm long, terete, canaliculate, velutinous; petioles 24-30 cm long, terete, canaliculate, thickened at base, with same indumentumum as the rachis. Thyrses panicleshaped, terminal or cauliflorous, pyramidal, to 30 cm long; cataphylls acicular, ca. 1 cm long; axesangled, sulcate, minutely velutinous to tomentulose; bracts ovate, tomentose with a few glandular hairs, persistent, 1.5-2 mm long; dichasia compound, basal ones pedunculate, to 4 mm long; pedicels 1.5-4 mm long, articulate at upper third to near the apex. Calyx 2.5-3 mm long, tomentose, with a few glandular hairs, the sepals 1.8 mm long, ovate, rounded at apex; petals obovate, 5.5-7 mm long, reflexed, sparsely papillate on adaxial surface, glabrous on abaxial surface, ciliate at margins, the apex rounded, the base narrowed; appendages as long as the petals, oblong, erect, villous on both surfaces; disc cup-shaped, 5-lobed, pilose or glabrous, ca. 0.8 mm tall; stamens 8, the filaments of equal length, 1.8-3 mm long, glabrous, the anthers 1.5 mm long, oblong, glabrous, apiculate at apex; ovary nearly conical, tomentose, the stigma capitate, tomentulose, papillate. Fruits narrow ellipsoid, glabrescent, 2-2.2 cm long, yellow, granulose, shortly apiculate at apex, the pericarp ca. 1 mm thick, the endocarp granulate, glabrous. Seeds ellipsoid, 1.7 cm long, with fleshy cover. Embryo with cotyledons superimposed, the upper one twice as large as the lower one.
