    Species Description - Tree 3-14 m tall. Stems terete, light brown, striate, ferruginous-tomentose, glabrescent and lenticellate with age. Leaves imparipinnate or paripinnate; distal process early deciduous, leaving a truncate base 2-3 mm long; leaflets (2)3-8, alternate, subopposite or opposite, elliptic, (4)6-23.5 × (1.8) 3-9.5 cm, chartaceous, slightly discolorous, the adaxial surface glabrous with prominulent midvein and slightly impressed secondary veins, the abaxial surface puberulent especially along veins, glabrescent, venation brochidodromus, prominent on abaxial surface, especially the midvein and secondaries, tertiary venation reticulate, prominulous on abaxial surface, margins undulate, the apex long-acuminate or caudate, the base attenuate, obtuse, to nearly rounded, asymmetrical, decurrent onto the petiolule; petiolules nearly cylindrical or pulvinate at base, striate, 3-10 mm long, puberulent; rachis 4-25 cm long, obtusely angled, abaxially striate, tomentulose to puberulent, slightly flattened on proximal portion; petioles adaxially flattened, abaxially striate, pulvinate at base, 3-12 cm long. Thyrses panicle-shaped, solitary and axillary or fasciculate at distal portion of branch, to 30 cm long; cataphylls minute, deltate or aciculate, early deciduous; axes obtusely angled, striate, puberulent to tomentulose; bracts subulate, early deciduous, ca. 2 mm long, with same indumentum as the axis, bracteoles similar to the bracts but smaller; dichasia simple; peduncle 0-0.5 mm long; pedicels 2.5-3 mm long, ferruginous appressed-pubescent, articulate at upper third. Calyx 2-3 mm long, tomentulose, the sepals oblong or elliptic, free to the base; petals elliptic, lanceolate or oblong-elliptic, ca. 3 mm long, abaxially appressed-pubescent on medial, lower half, adaxially puberulent-papillate, the apex obtuse, the base cuneate or attenuate; appendages as long as the petals, deltate, erect, adnate at base to lower third of petal, abaxially puberulent and papillate at lower half, adaxially sericeous; disc 5-lobed, tomentose to minutely hispid at apex, ca. 0.7 mm tall; stamens 8, the filament glabrous or pilose, of unequal lengths, 0.5-1 mm long, the anthers ovate, ca. 0.6 mm long, glabrous, shortly apiculate at apex; ovary ovoid, densely sericeous, the stigma elongated-trigonous. Fruits ellipsoid, 2-2.2 cm long, ferruginous-sericeous, the pericarp woody, 1.5-2.1 mm thick, the endocarp sparsely woolly-pubescent. Seeds 1 or 2, ellipsoid, woolly-pubescent by the micropile. Embryo with cotyledons superimposed, the upper cotyledon slightly larger than the lower one.

    The specific epithet refers to the locality where the type was collected.

    Phenology. Collected in flower from August to October, and in fruit from July to December.
