Description
Species Description - Herb, probably to 50 cm tall; stem 2-4 mm thick, sparsely appressed-puberulous with retrorse straight and curved hairs; internodes 1-5 cm long. Leaves in spirals; lamina elliptic to oblong, 9-15 × 4.5-6 cm, chartaceous; apex acuminate; base subcordate to rounded; margin rather faintly and coarsely crenate; upper surface smooth or ± scabrous, with sparse minute conical hairs; lower surface ± scabrous, puberulous on the main veins; lateral veins 8-10 pairs, loop-connected; tertiary venation subscalariform to reticulate; petiole l-4(-9.5) cm long, puberulous to substrigulose with retrorse straight or curved hairs; stipules broadly triangular, to 0.5 cm long, often with a ± auriculate base, on the lower part of the stem patent to reflexed, subglabrous. Inflorescences green; peduncle 1-5 cm long, puberulous to subhirtellous with ± retrorse hairs; receptacle centrally attached, discoid, (sub)orbicular in outline, 0.5-2 cm diam., the outside sparsely puberulous, partly with uncinate hairs, the margin lobed, the fringe 0.5-1.5 mm broad, only with minute globose hairs; bracts in ca. 3 rows on and below the margin and on the fringe, broadly ovate to semiorbicular, to 1.5 mm long, appressed, subglabrous; staminate flowers among the pistillate flowers; tepals 2; stamens 2; filaments longer than the perianth; stigmas almost equal in length, 0.5-0.6 mm long. Endocarp body ca. 2.5 × 1.5-2 mm, ± tuberculate.

Discussion
This species shows close affinities to Dorstenia panamensis.

In Colombia (Magdalena and Valle); in forest; at 900-1400 m.
