Discussion
Montes 4708 mentions that tender shoots are eaten by small rodents.
The male flowers have slightly shorter corollas than the female ones. The style is especially long in female specimens of this species. In most neotropical Buddleja the stigma is close to the level of the anthers at anthesis but here the stigma is raised several mm above the anthers, which is the case in general for ser. Stachyoides. This character plus the seed coat type indicate a position in this series for this species. However, in general appearance it resembles B. blattaria (ser. Lanatae) of N Peru. -
