Description
Species Description - Plants yellowish green to bright-green, in loose, somewhat rigid, dull mats. Stems complanate-foliate, to 3.5 cm long, 1.0-2.5 mm wide, simple or irregularly and sparingly branched; axillary hairs with a single short brown basal cell and 3 short-rectangular hyaline apical cells. Leaves lax, close, loosely erect, ± contorted when dry, 1.9-2.5 mm long, 0.5-0.7 mm wide, lanceolate, gradually long-acuminate; margins often recurved at base, entire; costa extending 1/2 length of leaf; cells smooth, median cells 89-118 µm long, 9-12 µm wide; alar cells subquadrate to oblong, 25-50 µm long, 14-28 µm wide. Autoicous. Setae ca. 1 mm long, orange; capsules ca. 1.5 mm long, broadly cylindric; opercula conic, short-rostrate, ca. 0.8 mm long. Spores 11-14 µm, finely roughened.

Discussion
This species is close to Juratzkaea seminervis but differs by the dull, complanate-foliate plants, by the longer leaves, 2.0-2.5 mm, that are loosely-erect and ± contorted when dry, and by the longer alar cells, 25-50 µm.

Distribution
Rare; known only from central Argentina (Fig. 19). On roots, especially Lithraea molleoides, and soil (Hosseus, 1937).
