  • Discussion

This species is probably closely related to C. soratensis, even though they are morphologically quite distinct. In leaf shape and pubescence C. lasiocalyx recalls less vigorous specimens of C. cypripediiflora (sect. Lehmannina), but the two are very different with regard to floral characters.

  • Distribution

Endemic to a small area in SE Peru comprising the province of Quispicanchis in the Cuzco Dept, and the adjacent prov. Carabaya of dept. Puno. Rocky, shrubby slopes and mountain forest, 1200-2900 m.
