  • Description

    Species Description - Young shoots glabrous, pale brown, smooth, lenticellate. Leaves spaced, spirally arranged, 9.420 × 0.8-1.3 cm, linear or very narrowly oblanceolate, apex acute, base long narrow attenuate, chartaceous, glabrous; venation craspedodromous or brochidodromous, with a submarginal vein very close to, and often fusing with the strong marginal vein, midrib slightly raised on the upper surface, secondary veins 22-24 pairs, parallel, straight; intersecondaries well developed; tertiaries obscure. Petiole 1-2 cm long, not channelled, glabrous. Fascicles 1-2-flowered, axillary. Pedicel 5-8 mm long, finely appressed puberulous. Flowers bisexual. Sepals four, 0.9-1 cm long, outer lanceolate, inner oblong, apex acute to rounded, finely and sparsely appressed puberulous outside, inner ones with glabrous margin, outer ones puberulous in upper half inside, inner ones glabrous inside. Corolla cylindrical, 1.2-1.4 cm long, tube 8-9 mm long, lobes 6-7, 4-5 mm long, oblong-lanceolate, apex acute, papillose. Stamens 6-7, fixed just below the apex of the corolla tube; filaments ca. 1.5 mm long, geniculate at apex, glabrous; anthers ca. 2 mm long, oblong, glabrous. Staminodes 6-7, ca. 3 mm long, subulate, glabrous. Disk absent. Ovary globose, borne on a short stout stipe, seven-locular, densely pubescent, style ca. 1.1 cm long after anthesis, equalling the corolla, glabrous; style-head capitate. Fruit unknown.
