Description
Description - Shrub or treelet up to 6.0 m tall. Branchlets slender, tips puberulent, older parts fuscous, glabrous, lenticellate. Leaves lanceolate-oblong or oblong, apex obtusely or subacutely subcaudate-acuminate, base slightly unequal, cuneate to obtuse, firmly membranaceous, glabrous, somewhat shining above, rather coarsely and obtusely glandular-subserrate, 6.5-9.0(-10.0) cm long, 2.0-3.5 cm broad, high-ascending 3-nerved from a little above the base, with 3-4(-5) pairs of upper shorter lateral nerves but slightly raised on both faces, veins numerous, more or less transverse, laxly reticulate and a little prominent as are the veinlets; petiole puberulous or glabrous, 2.0-3.0 mm long; stipules linear, minute, caducous. Panicles terminal, on lateral branchlets, slender, erect, 20-25-flowered (the flowers set in fascicles along rhachis), all over minutely hirtellous to almost glabrous, 5.0-7.0 cm long incl peduncle (1.0-2.0 cm); pedicels 3.0-5.0 mm long; bracts ovate-subulate, hardly 1.0 mm long. Flowers yellowish. Sepals 3 (rarely 4), ovate-oblong, obtusely acuminate, ciliate otherwise glabrous, 2.0 mm long. Petals similar to the sepals, a little larger. Receptacle glabrous. Ovary ovoid, glabrous; style 1.5-2.0 mm long. Fruit ovoid, attenuate to the style, blackish, 7.0-8.0 mm diam; seeds several.
