    Description - Dioecious shrub or small tree, up to 8.0 m tall; trunk up to 15.0 cm diam; bark smooth, gray. Branchlets hirtellous at tips, glabrescent below. Leaves (broadly) oblong to elliptic-obovate, sometimes narrowly obovate, apex short-acuminate and acute, base more or less long-attenuate towards the petiole, very base obtuse-truncate, (thin-)chartaceous, sparsely hirtellous on midrib and lateral nerves, otherwise glabrous and rather shining above, short-tomentellous all over and soft to the touch beneath, remotely serrulate-denticulate (ca 1.0 mm) especially in the upper part of the lamina, (11.0-)14.0-26.0(-32.0) cm long, (4.0-)6.0-12.0(-16.0) cm broad, lateral nerves 10-12 pairs, arcuate, obscurely inarching within the margin, prominent beneath, reticulation of veins and veinlets rather inconspicuous beneath; petiole slender, hirtellous, 0.8-1.5(-2.0, rarely -3.5) cm long; stipules subulate, hirsute, 7.0-10.0 mm long, caducous, o’ flowers solitary, or 2 or 3 in a fascicle in the upper, partly already defoliated axils, shortly grayish- to rusty-sericeous in all outer parts; pedicels rather slender, up to 10.0 mm long; bracts subulate, 4.0-6.0 mm long. Sepals 3, oblong-elliptic to suborbiculate, 6.0-8.0 mm long, 5.0-6.0 mm broad. Petals (6-)7-8(-9), obovate-oblong, base attenuate, sericeous in the middle dorsally, glabrous otherwise, white, (12.0-)14.0-16.0 mm long, 6.0-7.0 mm broad. Stamens 35-50; filaments hairy, 1.5-2.0 mm long; anthers sparsely hairy, (1.0-)1.5(-3.0) mm long. [female] flowers solitary or rarely in pairs, axillary, very similar to the [male] ones except sepals and petals generally al little longer. Ovary subglobose, yellowish-tomentulose and setulose; styles 3 or 4 (sometimes 5), multi-lacerate. Fruit on robust peduncle 5.0-7.0 mm long, globular, ca 2.0 cm diam, tomentose, densely set with more or less flattened soft-haired aculei 3.0-4.0(-5.0) mm long; pericarp of stone cells 0.5 mm thick; seeds few, broadly ovoid-angular, glabrous, 6.0-7.0 mm long.
