Description
Species Description - Similar to A. auritum except: fronds 30-70 cm long, stipe 1/3-2/5 the frond length; blade lanceolate, apex acuminate, bipinnate at base, mostly pinnate-pinnatifid, 12 to 18 cm wide; pinnae 25 or more pairs, segments obovate, mostly adnate; spores globose, large, dark brown to blackish, 32 per sporangium.

Type. Mexico. Chiapas: SE side of Cerro Baul, 16 km NW of Rizo de Oro, Breedlove & Smith 21805 (DS; isotype NY!). See discussion under Asplenium auritum.
