    Diagnosis: Pileus is dry, subvelutinous, becoming finely rimose-areolate, dark brown to yellow brown. Context whitish to yellowish white, cyanescent. Tubes and pores yellow to greenish yellow, cyanescent. Stipe central, dry, pale reddish above to pale brown elswhere, fibrillose to fibrillose subscabrous to matted. Spores fusoid, longitudically ridged with cross straie.

    Distribution: Eastern North America

    Ectomycorrhiza: Quercus is a possibility although the bolete is typically associated with decaying logs and stumps where oak is pesent.
