Description

Type: Holotype: Panama, Maxon 5653 (NY!).
Description: Uppermost cauline internodes, petioles, inflorescence rachis, adaxial surfaces of bracts and bracteoles, pedicels, and hypanthia copiously beset with smooth hairs 0.5-1.5 mm long; hairs of the adaxial leaf surfaces 0.5-1.5 mm long; hairs of the abaxial surface 0.25-1 mm long.
Habitat and Distribution: Cloud forest. 1400-2850 m. COSTA RICA (Herrera 5485, CAS); PANAMA (Almeda et al. 6121, CAS). (Endemic).
