Description: Shrub or tree, 2-5 m. Young stems terete, sparsely pubescent with elongated trichomes 0.7-2.8 mm, internodes longitudinal ridges absent, nodal line absent. Leaves isophyllous; petiole 1.0-3.7(-7.0) cm long; the blade 11.3-19.2 x 4.5-6.7 cm, ovate-elliptic, chartaceous, the apex gradually acuminate, the base rounded to acute, the margin ciliate with trichomes 1.0-2.9 mm long; secondary veins 2 pairs, plinnerved, diverging 0.9-3.6 cm above the base, symetrical, tertiary veins percurrent, quaternary veins reticulate, areoles 2.0-3.9 mm wide, veins flat on the adaxial surface and raised on the abaxial surface; adaxial surface chartaceous, the surface pubescent with trichomes 0.8-1.6 mm, the primary and secondary veins pubescent as in the surface; abaxial surface pubescent with elongated trichomes 0.7-1.6 mm, the primary and secondary veins pubescent as in the surface, but more densely pubescent on the midvein than on the surface. Inflorescences terminal, solitary to occasionally a 2-3 flowered cyme; pubescent with bulla based trichomes 1.5-4.0 mm; bracts caducous; bracteoles persistent, 2.3-2.8 x 0.8-1.5 mm, ovate, margins ciliate with trichomes 0.9-1.0 mm long. Flowers 8-10-merous, diplostemonous, pedicel 4.5-9.8 mm long, pubescent as in the inflorescence. Hypanthium 6.5 mm long, campanulate, 5.5-9.5 mm wide at torus, external surface pubescent with bulla based trichomes 2.1-4.6 mm. Calyx open in bud, the tube 2 mm long at anthesis, the lobes 2.5-2.8 x 2.7-3.4 mm, pubescent as in the external hypanthium; calyx teeth acerose, 2.0-5.5 x 0.2-0.5 mm, pubescent as in the hypanthium. Petals 8-10, 16.5-18 x 11-12 mm, obovate-cuneiform, white at anthesis, glabrous, the apex rounded, the base truncate, tapering, the margin entire. Stamens dimorphic, filament 10 mm long, glabrous, white, anthers with 2 locules, thecae 7.5-9.5 x 1.0-1.4 mm, straight, opening by 1 upright minute pore 0.35-0.5 mm, white, glabrous. Ovary 8-10-locular, 1/3 inferior, globose, the apex absent a corona; style 12 mm long, straight, glandular-puberulent, trichomes 0.1-0.15 mm; stigma capitate, apex glandular, 2.7 mm wide. Berries 0.8-1.3 x 0.8-1.2 mm, ovoid, the pubescence persistent when mature, calyx persistent.
